Oh now the cameraman zooms in -__-
thanks for the upload it was very helpful now I’m gonna go fix my bike chain
your gunna be late 4 work
After taking the back wheel off to make a repaint easier, my chain became twisted. Do you have any tips on how to untangle a bike chain that is still attached to the derailer mechanism? I do not own a chain break, and cannot acquire one as my town does not have a bike shop…any tips?
This great but you said “almost impossible to repin it back together”. I’m trying to attach one of the smaller links to the larger outer link because the link is all the way out. Any tips please?
THANKS !!!
2:08 his pants are tucked into his socks XD
i just fixed my by broken chain… it took me like half an hour.. but the problem was the gear.. anyways, the chain tool broken as soon as i fixed it.
i am taking it back to get an exchange,
@jackthelad93 @jackthelad93 Hey Jack,
it might have been, this was done in ’08 and we don’t carry that tool anymore. The ones we’d recommend with a chain-break and hexes are the crank brothers multi-17 and the Filzer I-Tool Grande – we’ve got both at mec.ca
great guide and was that an alien tool you were using there?
@LoZzA199 You are forgetting that this is an emergency chain fix. yes the chain will end up shorter, but the worst that might happen is a couple of gear combinations would become unusable. At least you could get home.
Thank you. I will have to give that a go with my new tools and see how I get on. I will likely take a spare link with me to keep the same chain length if I need to repair it.
2.48 whoa! woah! wait up there! That’s the whole reason we’re watching this vid and you just mumble through it with no clear sight of the parts. Which bit goes WHERE?
put in on the small **** o.O
This works for older chains and possibly current SRAM chains but not Shimano. For Shimano you push the pin all the way out and use a new pin replacement, or you can push the old pin out and add a master link. When you have a broken chain you almost always lose a link or even two so this video also missed that point.
@TheMagicNerd Meeeee
@XxSKATExKINGSxX YOUR TEETH!!
Cool vid…. could of done with some nice close up’s of the intricate stuff.. especially when you said something about the leading edge of the the chain when threading back on.
Where do I get the chain break from? O:
not sure if i am missing something here but isnt doing it this way losing a link? he needs to be putting a spare link in rather than just removing the damaged one and just whacking it back together. thats going to cause all sorts of issues with the gears
please correct me if i am wrong
on my bike i fixed my chane it it was working fine buy now when i pedal the gears and pedels r moveing but the bike wheel wont rotate does any1 know how to fix it?
fantastic, great vid
my crappy bike… ugh, i was riding up a hill then the freaking chain snapped…
rest it over a board with a small hole in it, then use a pin hammer, an unpointed metal rod of some kind. be gentle and careful you don’t bend the chain’ just tap the pin straight out. youd be better off with a chain breaker though unless its an emergency.
u this rout is **** i done it then it snapped again thanks alot x x
