Mountain Bike to Lose Weight Fast Monday, December 12th, 2011

When is the last time you went on a nice bike ride? It may have been years ago when you were playing with your kids. Now your body is beginning to grown fat and lazy. Fortunately, it is never too late to go in the garage, blow some air into the tires, and travel up or down a special path on a bike to lose weight fast. In fact, your body can eliminate more than 400 calories every hour it spends riding. Relying on a mountain bike for exercise is smart to quickly lose belly fat.

Once you decide to ride on two wheels to lose weight fast, you should schedule 60 minutes a day for the specific exercise. You can go alone, or have fun riding alongside friends and family. You can go on short trips every day, or take longer strolls every few days. Some folks even rely on their mountain bikes to get to work or school every day, as well as run little errands around town. Whether you are living in the mountains or not, biking can certainly be more exciting, as well as safe, than driving a car, taking a bus, a cab or even hitchhiking around town. It’s easy too. Once you begin to eat smart and rely on regular mountain biking routine, you should drop a pound a week.

Rather than hot dogs and beer, you should eat colorful fruit, vegetables and grains to give you power on a mountain bike. Consume lean meat for muscle growth, and drink plenty of water to clean out your system and fill up your belly. In fact, you should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

Instead of some fad diet that promises to eliminate 10 pounds from your scale in only 1 week’s time, the valuable weight loss effects from mountain biking are real, even if they are long-term benefits. After all, whenever you starve your body on some crash diet, you are robbing yourself of essential fuel, like protein. Meanwhile, your metabolism slows down, and you lose lean muscle tissue.

To begin improving the size of your belly by mountain biking, you should start by weighing yourself. This will help you figure out exactly how many calories need to be eliminated for every hour on your bike. The bigger you are, the more time you will need to spend exercising. Ride for 45 or 60 minutes at a time, five or six days a week. Time yourself riding at a normal speed. Calculate your average speed, and record the data. Over time, you can gradually go faster to burn more calories.

Locate an ideal place to ride. Find a few different trails on a mountain, in a park, or even create your own picturesque route through the city streets. Just do not ever forget to pack a portable air pump, a spare tire and a tire patch. Despite how durable a mountain bike can be, you can still get a flat. Every day, you can change your route to take in new scenery. Just remember to have fun riding your mountain bike to lose weight fast.

He suggested HCG Injections, along with fun exercises, like mountain biking, to see quick weight loss results. Thanks Doc!

The Sport of Mountain Biking Sunday, November 20th, 2011

The sport of mountain biking is one of the best active sports you can do for a number of fitness reasons and depending on what style of mountain biking you partake in, it can be also a great deal of fun as well as keeping you fit at the same time.

People are usually unaware of how may muscles you use when riding a mountain bike, and how quickly you can burn calories off riding a bike as it can be an extremely good work out for the body.

If you plan on riding cross-country along different styles of trails, riding a bike can be quite a task. So if you riding over a vast distance up and down hills, along slippery single trail it can be very exhausting on the legs and the lower back.

So if you are just starting to ride bikes for the first time, please don’t just jump on the bike a go for a 20 mile ride as it may do you more harm than good. One thing that is recommended is to do short rides to start with, maybe only a couple of miles which will take no time at all on a bike to get your fitness training up to scratch before hitting the bike ride.

MTB Fitness Training

All of the major athletes of the sport will tell you that mountain bike training is vastly important and you should take part in mountain bike fitness training when ever the opportunity arises. Going on those short rides will benefit you hugely and will stop you from injuring yourself.

Parts of your body that will benefit from training are your legs. Your legs will be the first part of your body in particular that will get tired very quickly. Building up your leg muscles either at the gym or one the bike will help improve your personal and bike fitness quickly.

The more you train the better your pace and your stamina will improve. Once these two have improved you will be able to go on longer and better rides than will enhance your fitness.

One of the major benefits of riding a mountain bike on a regular basis is that in order to ride your bike you use some of largest muscles in the body which in turn will burn off fat quickly. This will of course help you to lose weight and the more you ride you bike the more weight you will lose.

When you ride your bike on flat ground at a slower speed you are still burning a great amount of calories due to the fact that you will be able to continue that pedaling motion for a longer period of time. This is also perfect for people who don’t have the stamina for a highly intensive ride at different speeds and climbs etc. Low intensity work outs also don’t give you all the extra muscle either so the weight will stay off.

In summary using a mountain bike to keep yourself fit what ever your style of riding is a great way to keep fit, and training will also keep you one step ahead of your game.

Don’t forgot even if you don’t ride cross-country and are just as happy down the local skate park you are still having fun on your bike and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.

Mountain Bikes and Tire Pressure Friday, October 7th, 2011

Tire pressure is a very important facet of riding any kind of bike, including mountain bikes. By learning how to set the tire pressure, you can give yourself more control and help to make the ride down the mountain smoother. If the tire pressure is too low, then you will find that it is much harder to cycle and it can increase the chance of a flat, too. Tire pressure that is too high can make your ride very bumpy and out of control, as well.

Tire pressure can vary from person to person, because it is dependent upon the personal preference of the bicycler, the tire’s condition, and the terrain that you will be riding on. The tire pressure can be easily modified simply by using a high quality pump on the tires. A tire pressure gauge is also an essential part of keeping your tires at the optimum pressure.

The manufacturer of the tire will have a recommended tire pressure for your particular tires and this is where you can start. You can then adjust the tire pressure as needed from there. It is best to use the same tire pressure gauge and pump when you check your tires, because you may get different readings depending upon the tire pressure gauge that you choose.

A good rule of thumb is to start with a higher tire pressure for your bike. This means that you want to be around 40-50 psi (3-3.5 bar), and then lower the tire pressure a little at a time to find which tire pressure is best for your particular bike, terrain, and yourself. If you are a little heavier, then you will want to use a higher tire pressure for sure.

Taking a test bike ride is the best way to check the tire pressure. You will want to notice how the tire behaves, how it rides on the terrain, how it slides down the mountain, and how it hooks in the corners. If you have too much tire pressure, then drop it in increments of 5 psi in both tires. If the bike gains grip and is more stable at this tire pressure, then you will want to keep it at this standard pressure. If not, then you will continue dropping the tire pressure in small increments and redoing the test until your bike rides the way you want and need it to.

If you want to determine the lowest possible tire pressure, then gradually decrease the tire pressure until you see how it feels when you ride on almost flat tires. This will help you to learn how it feels so that you can keep your tubes from getting damaged.

If your mountain bike tires are tubeless, then you will want to stay with a lower tire pressure. The advised tire pressure for tubeless tires is between 30 and 40 psi. This is because tubeless tires experience fewer pinch flats and even rim contact occasionally is okay. This is why you can ride on tires with a much lower tire pressure than normal. If the tire pressure is too low, you will find that if you are cornering hard that the tire will roll under the rim.

Another thing that you need to be on the lookout for is rolling resistance. The increased rolling resistance will take more effort, but it will offer you greater control and better traction to allow you to climb easier. For racers who race cross-country, they would rather have a more efficient bike versus greater control, so you have to take into consideration what kind of biking that you will be doing.

Using your hand to squeeze the tire will help you determine what the right tire pressure feels like so that you do not have to rely so much on the tire pressure gauge.
